Medication reminders

A medication reminder app that builds the schedule for you

A medication reminder app sets the time for every dose and appointment and alerts you when it is due. Most of them ask you to enter the whole schedule by hand first, which is why they get abandoned within a week. Rifd reverses the step: photograph the prescription or paste the hospital message, and the AI extracts the medication name, dose and times, then builds the reminders and sends them to your phone — Arabic-first, with no app store.

Why do reminders stop working after the first week?

The problem is not the bell; it is the work that comes before it. Three causes repeat every time.

  • — Manual entry consumes the very time the reminder exists to save: a name, a dose, a time, and a repeat rule for every medication.
  • — A reminder without context does not know whose medication it is, whether the course has ended, or which person an appointment belongs to.
  • — Every medication lives in its own app or alarm, so alerts pile up from different sources until everyone ignores them.

How does Rifd build the reminder schedule?

Four steps, and you only do the first one.

  1. 1. Snap or paste. A photo of a prescription or medicine box, or the text of an appointment message from a hospital.
  2. 2. Review what was extracted. The name, dose, times and course length. An incomplete or low-confidence extraction is not saved until you confirm or correct it.
  3. 3. The schedule is built. Every dose is tied to its time in the Rifd Calendar, and every appointment to the right person's profile.
  4. 4. The reminders arrive. Notifications from the app on the user's devices. A fixed-length course stops reminding automatically when it ends, and anything taken as needed gets no reminder.

Reminders when the family is more than one person

Most people who use a reminder app are not tracking one medication but three or four people. This is where an individual reminder stops and organising family care begins.

  • — A profile for each person, with their own doses, appointments and medications, instead of mixing everyone into one list.
  • — One shared schedule that everyone involved in the care can see, instead of copies scattered across chats and paper.
  • — Family editors can be given access to specific profiles, instead of sharing the whole account.

More on organising family care

Arabic-first, and it installs like an app

Rifd does not send you to an app store: it is a progressive web app (PWA) you add to your home screen from the browser on iPhone or Android. The interface is Arabic-first and right-to-left, with full English, the AI reads both Arabic and English prescriptions, and medication names stay in their source language. Records you have already viewed stay available offline for up to 30 days.

What a reminder app does not do

Rifd organises and reminds; it does not diagnose, treat, adjust a dose, or replace a doctor or pharmacist. When a potential interaction between two medications exists, it shows it from official drug labelling as a prompt worth raising with a pharmacist or doctor — not a medical assessment and not a decision to start or stop anything.

Medication reminder questions

What people ask before the first reminder.

Do I have to type in every medication myself?

No. You can photograph the prescription or the medicine box, or paste the text of a hospital message, and the AI extracts the name, dose and times. Manual entry is still there, and an incomplete or low-confidence extraction is held for review before it is saved.

Do reminders stop when a course of antibiotics ends?

Yes. Reminders tied to a fixed-length course stop automatically when the course ends, so nothing keeps ringing after the medication is finished. You can edit the course length at any time.

Can I share the medication schedule with a doctor?

You can produce a printable or save-as-PDF medical summary from the app's settings to share with a care provider ahead of an appointment. It is an organisational summary of what is recorded, not a clinical report.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Rifd is a progressive web app (PWA): you add it to your home screen from the browser on iPhone or Android, with no app store. Records you have already viewed stay available offline for up to 30 days.

How do I add a hospital appointment to the schedule?

Paste the text of the appointment message or photograph the appointment slip; Rifd extracts the date, time and clinic and suggests adding it to the right person's profile. Review the extraction, confirm it, and the appointment appears in the schedule with its reminder.
